on editing the project.

The Photoshop action has been tested and working on Photoshop (English version only) CS3,CS4,CS5,CS6,CC+

The After Effects Motion Kit has been tested and working in After Effects CS6, CC+. 

If you are not using the English version of Photoshop, you can always change it to English and then back again to your native language using this method below.

Please check: 

1. Your photo is in RGB color mode

2. Your photo is in 8bit color mode

3. You are running the English version of Photoshop.

4. If you are experiencing errors, try resetting your Photoshop preferences. To do this,
hold down Alt, Ctrl, and Shift keys (Mac: Command, Option, Shift) while starting up Photoshop. 
A dialog box will appear asking if you wish to delete the preferences/settings file.  

5. Avoid using small resolution images. For the best results, use photos between 
1500px - 3500px high/wide at 72ppi.

1. INSTALLING THE PHOTOSHOP ACTION

1. Inside Photoshop, go to the 'Window' menu and select 'Actions'. A window
will now appear to the right hand side.

2. Inside the Actions window, click on the top right hand corner icon to reveal
the drop down menu. From here select 'Load Actions...'. Select the action which
came with the download.

3. The action will now appear in the actions panel.

2. USING THE PHOTOSHOP ACTION

1. Open a photo to work with.

2. Leave the photo layer locked and set as the 'Background'. 

3. Create a new layer above the background layer called 'brush'. MUST be all lowercase.

4. With the 'brush' layer selected, brush onto the areas of
your photo that you want to apply the effect to.

5. Now play the action

1. Locate the ‘ScriptUI Panels’ folder within After Effects on your computer. 

On a Mac, this will be:
Applications/Adobe After Effects XX/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels

On Windows, this will be:
Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects XX/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels

2. Place the files within the downloaded ‘AE Install’ folder in the ScriptUI Panels folder.  

3. Within After Effects, go to Preferences>General and check ‘Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network’. 

4. To access the Motion Kit UI Panel, go to Window>Shimmer Motion Kit.jsxbin

4. MOTION KIT OVERVIEW

1. To run the Motion Kit, choose a custom name in the 'Name' placeholder, insert a unique name to keep your project files organized

2. Choose your desired Width, Height and Frame Rate. You may additionaly use the source dimensions by checking the checkbox for 'Use Source Dimensions'. 

3. When prompted, locate the source you would like to use the effect on. 

4. Within Step 1 – Insert Source, adjust your source position and scale. 

5. Within Step 2 – Isolate, brush over the subjec you would like to addd the ffect to. Be sure the Current-Time Indicator is on frame zero. 


5. When you are ready to render your design, choose from the 5 ready-to-render comps witin the 'Render' folder: Hit, Loop, In-Loop-Out, Time Remap or Reveal. Highlight the composition and select File>Export>Add to Render Queue. From there, select your export settings such as Quicktime, and hit render.
